Went to a gshow in Deland,fl today, prices were sky high! I noticed a nice sw with box on a table, asked to pick it up and was druling, it was a nib 4” model 520, wow! It appears unfired with original box, had targets on it. I asked what the damages were! Said he got it for 900 and would take 1000! I couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger! Buuuut I thought about it.
Are there many 520”s out there?

The production number is well known...what was it again? :)

I think about 3,000? Many are found NIB because they were known to be a unique limited edition. $1000 is not a bad price...

... I think they make a pretty dashing splash across a collection and one is a must have for an N Frame .357 Mag collector.:)

I would agree that $1K is a pretty fair price.

Only problem is that it was not wearing the correct grips. It came with a set of modified (plain clothes) magnas which are pretty hard to come by as the only N frame they were outfitted on originally were the 520 and the Model 58. You'd probably pay at least $100 for a clean set

I purchased one a couple years ago, paid a little to much, but it is fun to shoot. I take it to the range almost every time I shoot. I'm not into safe queens but each his own.

There was one near me for sale day before yesterday. So close I could use my favorite transfer location and have it be central to both of us. Price was right too!

I just bought a CZ 2075 RAMI, but it's not like I couldn't afford the 520, just seemed wrong to do it the day after I bought something.

Friggin thing played on my mind mightily. Knew I'd probably spend another 30 years before I saw another, but couldn't do it.

Thankfully, somebody bought it up yesterday. Still thinking I should have done it, but glad someone else did.

It's an S&W unicorn.

I have one of those, in a box. I had an equal but un-boxed one earlier, and sold it last year. Funny how they seem to turn up in small bunches. Shotgunner

Love and have owned (and sold) two of them. Don't like having to obsess over them getting dinged or perhaps worse rust. Right now I have what I consider an admirable replacement, a 681 wearing a set of modified magnas and a tyler. To me-this is just perfect for a .357!!! DOn't have to baby it like the 520.
But who knows....someday there might be a convergence between price, availability, cash in pocket and location and I might wind up with yet another :D
