I finally found one. Super tight lock up, minimal if any endshake, and timing checks out. Blue is about 97% only because there are two small "spots" on the barrel blue. It also has a pretty pronounced ring around the cylinder. Is that something to worry about? Is it indicative of a problem?

It comes with the rubber finger grip Houges(?) on the gun as well as an awesome set of pristine target stocks. Shop owner says they originally came with the target stocks, but I think the -4s came with the rubber ones? Am I right?

No box. Price is $399. Shop does not haggle and listed price is the final price.

I think the price is ok. I rarely see 586's especially 4" ones. Plenty of 686s, but the 586s are few and far between in my parts.

Should I "pull the trigger" so to speak?

I think the -4's still came with wood.

You should still so "pull the trigger" on this deal!!!

I am certain that the round-butt 586-4's came with RUBBER grips--Hogue "Mono Grips", IF I remember correctly. I'm not sure on the square-butt 586-4's--they may have shipped some of those with the wood "Target" grips. Hope this helps. Paulie686.

I have a mint 586-4 4". They came with Hogue round to square conversion grips, not wood.
