I've bought numerous items on line from most of the popular sites including the want adds here. My first time dealing with a dis-honest seller just reared it's UGLY head.
I purchased a composite stock on GB that was advertised as "new, but missing the butt pad & grip cap".
When the stock arrived it was broken thru the right side near the bolt handle relief. The inner end flap of the shipping box notes ;
m96S
cracked
missing cap
&
butt pad
4 (was the sellers stock or sale number, was noted in the title of the auction)
Now that I see the stock, missing all usable parts including the swivel studs (not mentioned by the seller), It was busted, any usable items removed, & it was thrown in the garbage as unusable.
I called the seller & his first response was, "oh, the cracked one, I said so in the add". NO, you said "new" no mention of a break.
He offered a refund upon return. My question is Why I am not afforded the same respect as a seller? If he is willing to pay for the goods (plus evidence of an act of blatant fraud, why do I have to ship before reciept of secured funds?
When I suggested to him that I would hold the stock till a refund was recieved, the rude coments, "I'm an honest business man", etc came forth. Is this the way internet business works, "good seller, bad buyer"?
GB customer support seems to think so!
Jim (it's not the principle, it's all about the money!)
PS; I await further help from GB support, will post their answer.
