Got home last night and had an email from Ameris Bank saying some bone head in Arizona tried 8 times to use my debit card at Walmart.

Got back from the bank a few minutes ago to get a new debit card. Checked my email, and had another one from Ameris Bank saying I'd charged $155.14 at Dicks Sporting Goods on my Ameris credit card. I don't shop at Dicks! I'll have to wait 3 to 5 days for a new credit card.

I'm glad I have the email notifications set up.

Two cards compromised in 2 days.

I'd be having a serious discussion with the bank that issued those cards.

I just went through this with Citi.
A royal PITA because now I have to remember where, and with whom(?), I have auto pay set up along with waiting for the new card to arrive.

I have 2 cards. One is for the autopay and nothing else. The other is for daily use.

Go back and review your purchases and see who you did business with just before the incidents. Likely that's where the theft occurred.

Happened to me recently with my Capital One card. Like the OP, I have notifications set up, get an email and text message every time the card is used so I can immediately call and report it as fraud. Only happened to me twice but that was two times to many.

Happened to me recently with my Capital One card. Like the OP, I have notifications set up, get an email and text message every time the card is used so I can immediately call and report it as fraud. Only happened to me twice but that was two times to many.

I have this notification on all of my credit cards after one of the issuers didn't blink at somebody who managed to charge airline tickets in Chile, South America to my credit card when I had never been out of North American in my life. Luckily I was in the habit of checking on my credit card account about every day.

Last time I used my credit card was Wednesday night at Racetrack gas station. They have the tap reader you don't have to put your card into.

My debit card is only used for the ATM, FPL, and Palm Coast Utilities which I pay online.
