G'day,

My name's John and I have 11 S&W's - I've adored the brand since I was 10 years old as my fave pistol manufacturer.

My first two guns ever were both S&W's - a Model 17-2 4-inch blued .22LR and a 645 in .45ACP. I loved them as much then as I do now!

Since then the M17 has been fully restored to as new by our local distributor and the 645 is currently getting the same treatment. Happy days! (How many people can say they still have their first guns?)

Over nearly 20 years of pistol shooting (I started aged 24) I've amassed a number of functional Smiths - and my latest which is the first 'pretty gun' in my collection - a Nickel engraved Classic Model 29 in 44 Magnum with mahogany presentation case. Never would have thought I'd like a 'gun in a box' quote so much - but I do!

Here's my current stock of S&W's (I have 30+ pistols in total);

Model 17 K-22 Masterpiece blued 4-inch 22LR
Model 617 stainless 4-inch 10-shot 22LR
Model 14 K-38 Masterpiece blued .38 Special 6-inch custommade target grip
Model 66 stainless 4-inch .357 Magnum
Model 29 Nickel Engraved Classic 6 1/2 inch .44 Magnum
Model 629 stainless 6 1/2 inch .44 Magnum with Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x variable scope
Model CS45 stainless .45 ACP
Model 645 stainless .45 ACP
S&W M&P45 .45 ACP
Model 460XVR stainless 8.5 inch .460 S&W Magnum with Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x variable scope
Model 500 stainless 10.5 inch Performance Centre .500 S&W Magnum with integral shoulder sling and Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x variable scope

My pistol shooting activities span recreational, competitive, and hunting (in jurisdictions where the law permits).

It is my number one sporting activity and I recently won the Australian National Centrefire Pistol Championship for my State Team, I've won many State Championships, and have 8 international Gold Medals to my name.

I love the sport and wish it were more popular and (in my country at least) more popular and better understood.

I've just come across this forum after doing a Google search for a 629 PC Hunter - could be time to upgrade my scoped 629 - so put up a 'Wanted' ad - fingers crossed.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and girls and exchanging all sorts of good vibrations about the pre-eminent manufacturer of handguns in the world - Smith and Wesson!

Welcome from the beautiful hills of East Kentucky.

John, welcome from New Iberia LA. And now we must discuss the severity of your handgun problem. As you well know the addiction starts with your first purchase. And then goes on exponentially from there. Sir, I have to inform you that there is no cure for Smith & Wessonitus. The sad end can be prolonged by acquiring new S&W handguns on a regular basis. We had one chap who lived to be 105 years old. When asked his secret he replied "Buy more S&W handguns.
All kidding aside welcome aboard. Frank

Good day to you my friend from a shooter in Indiana.
Nice start to your collection. You are officially "NOT"
a newbie...

Welcome from Texas Aussie460XVR. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Always grand to have a new member of the S&W family join in from down under.

Big fan of the Shiraz wines from your country.
