I bought on an auction a Model 27-2. And it has grips like the ones in this picture below:

I'm left handed and I have never fired a revolver with grips like this. Does that recess for the speed loader on the left side grip affect the grip hold for a left handed person?

I AM LEFT HANDED AND HAVE USED THOSE GRIPS.
I DON'T THINK YOU WILL HAVE A PROPLEM,I KNOW I DID'T. GO GIVE THE GUN A TRY YOU CAN ALWAYS BUY MORE GRIPS. IF YOU BUY MORE GRIPS LABEL THE GRIPS YOU HAVE NOW SO YOU KNOW WITCH GUN THEY GO TO. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR NEW GUN DON

Like Hawk I am left handed and have never had a problem other than the grips being a little big for my hand.

Just an FYI that, relief is not actually for a speed loader but a recess to help the ejection of your cases. The speed loader relief came in the 80's at about the time 29's transitioned from the -2 to the -3. The SL relief goes all the way through to the sideplate.

Thanks for that information. And thanks to all of you guys for answering my question.
