I like K frames.

Am I the only one who noticed that there are only two in the 2012 catalog? Am I also the only one who noticed that they have, both 64 & 67, essentially, the same HB? (though one has the AS).

I'm cool with .38 Special.

I would suggest a tapered 4" stainless barrel so it balances better - like the old 67's. (though not the same due to the current obsession with RBs).

Or just make a 3" HB. Heck, just cut an inch off the one they're making now - with both fixed and AS and I'd buy one of each.

Now with pics!

Let's see here;

The tapered barrel 10-5 4" is nearly perfect. Balance with the SB is nearly perfect. 4" gives great accuracy. 30ish oz. is perfect. I wonder why they discontinued this model?!?

The 2.5" 66 is about as close to perfect IMHO as reasonably exists (I've never held a 3" 66 though). If I were improving this, I would cut the cylinder shorter for .38 Spec only. IMHO; I prefer the AS (adjustable sight), Semi (smooth) Target Trigger, Semi-Target Hammer, etc with the (red insert, white-outline-rear) sights.

The slightly-tapering 3" 10-4 Aussie trade-in gun is actually slightly heavier than the 10-5 4" tapered barrel. It balances as well, or better, than the 10-5. The SB balances out the somewhat-heavier barrel. In my view; this design, or possibly the 2.5"/3" 66's are the best combination of features when shooting out to 50' or 75'. My groups at that range are consistently 3" to 4" in double action.

That, my friends, is what I wish for then: a Stainless, 10/64/67 without the HB and both with and without the AS.

Edit: I'm working on getting an older 67 as we speak. I'd also snag a 3" 66 given the opp (but that ain't gonna happen). Again though; they don't make either of those anymore either.

Edit 2: Of course I'd settle for, and would buy one of each - the current production 64 and 67 with an inch cut off the current barrel.

Edit 3: added descriptions for the acronyms (again, sorry about that...).

Well then I have a '68 RB, 2" K-Frame snubbie that seems perfect when I was shooting at 30-50 feet I just aim a little low.
I'm strapped up right now in fact.
They are heavy but I don't mind. The weight counters the recoil.

Ooops. Sorry about the acronym thing.

I prefer the Semi-target hammer (STH), Smooth Target Trigger (STT). Target sights (TS), White Outline (WO) rear sight.

I would like a....

I would like to see them make a Model 65/13 3" HB, RB, with an aluminum or scandium frame and sights like on the Night Guard series. That would be the perfect carry revolver. Light, but not too light for .357 magnum self defense loads. Long enough barrel decent velocity and sight radius.

I just bought a 19-5 (for a steal too, only $350) it had the original grips on it which I thought was a little uncomfortable. So I bought come Hogue rubber grips for it and couldn't be happier! Great gun!

K frame .38's have just gone out of vogue since most people are more in favor of Glock, Sig, M&P's, and similar poly framed 9's and 40's. Maybe more people will demand a come back once the used police and security guns start to dry up. I doubt it but you never know.
