I went through a similar deal way back when with one of the VERY FEW forum deals that wasn't as clean as a whistle. I maintain that if the seller said he would pay shipping as part of the agreement, he should stand by his word. It's not your fault if he was not educated in the matter, shocking as it may be. I suggested he check with his FFL as he can ship through the postal service for about 15 bucks, but he'll charge for his time standing in line and completing the 1508 form.
