If you saw my thread on whether or not to sell my 2.5" Model 19-3, you probably realized that I had an itch for a new or different gun.

I decided to keep the 19, but I was still itchin'. I looked at the Ruger website and saw that they are cataloging a flat top .45 Colt/.45 ACP on the old medium frame as a Lipsey's offering. I figured they would be hard to find 'cause I think for now anyhow, it is a limited run. I just happened by the NAPA yesterday morning, asked Bo Barrow (the owner) if he ever got any Lipsey's guns. Of course he had a stainless version and a blue version in stock, both in 5 1/2" barrel. It took me about 90seconds to decide that I just had to have one, and another 30 seconds to decide that stainless would really be more practical in this climate. I only got to shoot 6 rounds of .45ACP just before dark yesterday. I think this might be a "dedicated" .45ACP, at least until I get through with about 1200 rounds of steel cased Wolf and aluminum cased Blazer ammo I really don't want to shoot in my 1911s.

While perusing another forum today (Ruger), I discovered that Lipsey's also has out a 3 3/4 inch (New) Vaquero with birdshead grip. Oddly, they don't offer a convertible, but they offer both .45 Colt and .45ACP. I 'spect I will have to have one of those, too, so while I won't be selling the 19-3, I will probably have to move a couple of guns to cover at least part ofthe new purchases.

Thank goodness I do not get that specific kind of "itch" redlevel. However, if that itch strikes again, that M19 would look great at my house!
