Top is 4" machine engraved with pair of 80's Goncalo Alves;
Middle is 6.5" 50th Anniversary 1956-2006 edition;
Bottom is 8 3/8" stainless;
Right is latest buy picked up today (!) 6.5" with pair of 80's Goncalo Alves.

I try to get the original style and wood grips from the Dirty Harry period because they fill my hands better.

Very nice! I think the "I think" isn't needed :). However, look for some of Doc44's posts for some truly stunning examples.

That's a great start to your new found addiction. I love the long tom 629. I have a soft spot for the longer barrels. Keep 'em coming!:D

Thanks for the responses. I like each one for specific reasons. If I pick up the 629-1 from 1985 it reminds me of my first one in 1983. It is the same as that one which came in a blue and white cardboard box. I remember the serial number of it!

380ADZ

I might have the numbers and letters switched but those are the actual letters and numbers.

The one pictured is from 1985 and it is exact in fit and form.

The 4" 29-10 is my favorite still. It is the smoothest recoil in my hands for some reason.

The 29-10 50th Anniversary Edition is super fine and has gold inlay on the opposite side (not pictured here). Recoil is perceptibly higher on my hands with the 6 1/2" barrel.

The new undecorated 29-10 6 1/2" has the the same as above without the gold inlay and super fancy thumb ejector.

All of my 29's above are as accurate as hand rifles clear out to 100 yards firing at a pistol bull's eye (for 25 yards) target. It's because of three things common in every 29 since they were made in 1956:

1. Excellent sights with red ramp front and white outline rear. These sights are the easiest handgun sights for me to see the target with the sights to make the shot.
2. Excellent SA trigger.
3. Outstandingly accurate--capable of shooting within an inch at 50 yards.

I see the SW Classic 57 is coming out for 2016. There's a real good chance I'm gonna get that too...!
