We put 100rds of 38 thru my 686. She hadn't shot anything in 25 years and she had a good time.

The recoil didn't bother her at all so we'll have to try some 357 soon.

My wife and I always go to the range together.

Last time we shot, she put 200+ rounds through a Model 15-2. Today, she kept it to about 170 rounds from her Python. She does out shoot me sometimes.

I load light .38 special rounds just for her. She shoots full bore 38+P and some .357 mags at each session, but we're a lot more interested in keeping it fun than shooting heavy loads.

I think she like to scrounge for brass as much as she likes to shoot, which is okay with me; we got about 400 assorted cases today alone!

After shooting we go out for dinner. This is a nice way to spend the day.

I wish I could get my wife to go shooting with me. We've been married 14 years and she's gone once. I let her try several, she liked my High Standard Sentinel Deluxe .22, but has never felt the need to go again.

My wife and I have been together for 11 years and she has only gone to the range once with me. This might soon change because she finally got her LTC. This could be a good thing or I might have created a major ammo shortage for myself:D

A group of my shooting buddy's and myself and my wife went to the range a few years ago. My wife out shot us all with every handgun that we had (she is a natural!)! I told her that she was not welcome at the range anymore. She said, "thats ok...now that I have mastered shooting, its time to move on to something else!!!" Ouch, that hurt!!!

Mastered shooting,,,,thats funny, Give her a snubby and take her to the rifle range, if she has that down, start taking lessons from her:D

Too all:
I am afraid if I took my wife to the range, she would find out how many guns I really own. I have offered to take her, but she always has an excuse not to go. But then again, she might like shooting and want to buy a few more......she does own a mod 36, but doesn't know where it is.
We are an odd couple and cancel each other out when it comes to politics, religion, guns, Peta, prarrie dog shooting, an just about every other topic ever known. Funny thing is, we have been together for 15+ years. oh well

I took a few girlfriends to the range years ago, and they usually shot nearly as well as I did after a brief lesson. My wife oddly hasn't seemed to have caught on to it. She's all over the place, even with the Model 15-2 that I find easy to group with. I wonder if she's faking it.

I wouldn't make the assumption that she will feel the same about 357 Magnums. When I purchased my model 620 I bought 2 boxes of 38 +P and one box of Federal 158 grain SJSP in 357 Magnum. Went through both boxes of the +P and thought "this isn't bad at all, gun seems to be very accurate". Then I broke open that Federal 357 Magnum. Two cylinders was all I could take with the small Hogue monogrip that shipped with the 620. I do a lot of work with my hands and nearly 30 years of doing occasional fill in work on a vertical mill have left me what my brother calls "Machinists hands", meaning they are a bit calloused. All it took was 2 cylinders of 357 Magnums to start raising some blisters. Also beat my shooting hand up pretty well. That night I went home and got on this forum, thanks to the help here my 620 now has the monogrip for the 500 Magnum installed on it and it's a lot easier shooting with Magnums.

People think the 40 S&W is too "snappy', IMO compared to a 357 Magnum it's a powder puff. However, now that I have a suitable grip on my 620, Magnums are good fun and it also helps shake the chips loose from my hair or shirt.

Wife is better than I am...

We've been together for 16 years and she had always been against any type of shooting, for her. She didn't mind if I shot, carried, etc., and didn't mind me taking our daughters out.

She started working at a friend's flower shop last year, and before Valentine's Day, the local police came around warning them against people trying to rob them over that weekend (women only working, late nights, lots of cash on hand, no deposits on weekend, etc.) and she immediately wanted to start shooting and get her concealed carry permit.

I grabbed all my pistols and headed to the local range. She didn't like anything I had, so I had to buy her a M&P9c. We put a Crimson Trace grip on it and she is excellent. Much better than I am, at least with the pistols. The bad thing is, now she takes notice of any new "toys" than enter the house and wants an equal share.

Agree with the advice to stick with the loads she likes for the most part... otherwise, it makes sense to shoot SOME .357 or defense loads but have fun at the range.

I am so fortunate, my wife likes going to the range and shooting.

I just bought my first 686 and I was wondering what load of practice ammo you shoot thru it?

While I'm at it...what does everybody out there shoot? ~ I've got 300-rnds. of Win. U.S.A. 130-gr. FMJ.
