I vs J Frame Hammers

I was wondering if anybody knows if a standard J frame hammer, like a model 36, would fit an extended I frame, like a Terrier?

Haven’t tried it, but I would guess yes... but you would have to use the matching spring strut... early ones had a ball top while later ones have a fork. Hondo44 should be along soon and answer this authoritatively.

Yes! For the same vintage.
Both in the improved I frame and the New Model 1953 I frame, and also the J frame (extended) Terrier.
