Prior to joining the Forum I was aware of single barrel trap guns, the Sig P226, the Mossberg 500 and not much else.

Now I am obsessed with tripe and nonsense like Pinned & Recessed," "pre-Model Number" and "Correct Serialized Grips"

Each and every one of you disturbed and ruined my blissful ignorance

This forum ruined me too. I lurked around for about a year before my join date and at that time I only had 2 Taurus revolvers, one SP-101 and a newly purchased 686-6. I thought pre lock revolvers were unobtainable. Now I attend gun shows and visit LGS's on a weekly basis

Yup, this is an addicting well of knowledge to drink from. Luckily I got into the hobby too old to thoroughly partake, and just enjoy vicarious collecting.

Nice revolvers ya got there. :)

Tell me about it.

When I joined it was to find out about an early pre 29 I ran across for a steal. That was my seventh S&W, which included two duty guns and four that I was given by an old friend.

At last count I had about 49 revolvers and two third gen semi autos.

I see you are still lacking a second model hand ejector.:D

Yeah! I'm mean, and I know it. :D

If you thought this was a support group...get over it!! These people want to feed your addition!

I thought it was supposed to help to talk about addiction to other addicts

But Alas — On this Forum the 12 step program is merely what happens before achieving your 13th revolver

(N.B. I am not making fun of the real 12 step program or anyone who follows it)

Our strategy....

If you thought this was a support group...get over it!! These people want to feed your addition!

We encourage all member to go crazy and purchase far more guns than they can afford. Then we clean up in the sell off after the wife gets wind of what's going on.:D

I was OK too until somebody gave me a big bag of 38spl ammunition and I had nothing to shoot it in.
Thus came the '20s vintage m&p 5" barrel in 38, followed by the 5" M&P in 32-20, followed by the K38 masterpiece.
I really like the 32-20 and from the collector aspect a Colt makes sense for the next acquisition, but the Smiths are soooo nice.
Yes I have the disease too, there is no 12 step program.
mh51 is right. Only bankruptcy will cure.
And I still have not shot up all of the bag I was given.
It keeps replenishing out of nowhere.

When I retired in 2004 I had 4 S&W, 2 of which I shot in some competitions. Then I retired and found the Forum. Having met a few avid S&W collectors, Roy Jinks, Wayne Betz, Mike Stuckschlager, and a multitude of S&W employees like George Hood and Mike Martin, Sherry Collins and several others whose names escape me now, I was aware of the Collectors Assoc. Then in 1992 The Collectors Assoc meeting was held in my little home town and the "Artistry In Arms" Exhibit was brought in to one of our museums and I saw that, I realized S&W made more than a couple 38's and a 44 Mag.

I became intrigued with the older S&W's, from the real early ones to up around the 1960's. I have a smattering of newer S&W's, but only 20 of my S&W's are not C&R eligible.

Yeah, this place keeps "requiring" me to buy just one more, over and over.
