Brian in Oregon: well I got the initial idea for my revolver from

the S&W Model 625JM which is a 6 shot .45 caliber revolver and it uses moon clips to load and unload it.

So I decided to make my revolver idea into a 6 shot revolver and have it load and unload using moon clips.

The closest revolver that I ever to the one you want is a RedHawk in 357.
You might be able to convert one of those to 9 mil.

Nothing says America like a foreign caliber.

Gun Club Fan: How rude!

Now if I may make a point yes the 9mm cartridge was born in Germany a long time ago.

But it did immigrate to America and became popular with American law enforcement and the American military.

And it serves along side service pistols chambered in .45 ACP caliber.

And the reason I chose to pick that caliber for my revolver is because S&W Already has a large frame revolver chambered in 45ACP.

The S&W 625JM and I feel that it needs a 9MM cousin standing beside it.

A K or even an L would make a lot more sense for a 6 shot 9mm.

Myself, I wish S&W would bring back the 547 9mm, in a 4" square butt and a 2", 2.5" or 3" round butt, maybe in an aluminium frame with stainless cylinder and barrel on the snubbie. The 547 did not need moon clips, but even moon clips would not be a deal breaker. Perhaps the 4" could be a 9mm version of the Model 15.

I don't think it is rude at all. Who developed the .22 LR, the .38 S&W Special, the .357 Magnum or the .40 S&W? American companies. All I'm saying is you want to make an all American gun. Red white and blue using a 9mm! Really? As a former LEO, let me ask you a question. Why are police departments and the military dropping the 9mm? It's a puny cartridge. It won't penetrate a car windshield. How many times have you seen a cokehead get shot 6 or more time with a 9mm and still inflict damage on a officer. One round fro a .40 or a .45 will put him down and keep him down. It is a false sense of security when I see young LEO's saying "I have 14 rounds" I tell them that if they need 14 rounds they are in trouble. I carried either a .357 or a .44 Magnum. I came close to using my sidearm on many occasion and I had all the confidence that if I shot, I would be the one left standing. Not the perp.

Ranger514: I considered that but since S&W manufactured a k-frame in 9MM the model 547.

I decided that my idea should feature a bigger frame after all sometimes bigger is better :D

OK - machine gun 357-
Have you ever seen a 357 RedHawk?
As I stated above, it's the closest gun I ever saw to what you want.
Check around your locale and see if you can find one.
They didn't make many.
I wonder why not?

Actually it's more like why are so many law enforcement agencies going BACK to the 9mm

Interesting idea. Out of a 4" N frame it would like shooting .22 shorts out of a J frame :)

This is off topic, but, I'll answer it anyway. The reason they are returning to the 9mm is the size of LEO's is getting smaller, and more women on the force. Did you ever see a 5'6" person fire a .45? I recently bought a M&P .45 from a shop in a town where the police dept. traded them in for 9mm Glocks. The reason? The majority of the officers didn't like them because they hurt their hands when they shot them. maybe that town should have bought bigger cops. Next thing you know they may be turning in their 12 ga. shotguns for .22 LRs. When I was on the force the smallest officer was 6'. Everyone carried a .357 or larger.
