I would like to get "combat grips" for my 642 power port.

I just purchased a 642 power port from gunbroker, I love the look of the classic S&W factory combat grips, I was wondering if they make them for the j-frame and where I go about getting them. This will be my first jframe so I know next to nothing about them, thanks all and God bless.

I'm not sure what you're referring to but I have a set of what used to be called factory bannana style oversize grips for a J w/the football cutout on the left panel for emptys to clear when ejected. I don't believe S&W makes these any longer, but PM me if you are interested.

I had a set on my recently sold 640-1, but found them to actually be "too nice" for me to want to EDC and I went back to Uncle Mike's adaptation of the Spegel Boot Grip.

I paid about $110 shipped for them on eBay a couple months ago, and sold them for ~$30 less than that within the last few weeks or so.

I wouldn't want to fire a higher recoil gun like an Air weight with those stocks too much. They look nice, but shift the balance of the gun "farther" out in your hand, if that makes sense, increasing muzzle flip and felt recoil...in my experience. I suppose you could say they raise the bore axis.

Sure look nice though
