I should have asked before, but now it's history and in the books.

Anybody else go to Frostproof the past weekend?

Normally S&W revolvers dominate. I think in past maybe 1 out of 150 competitors used Ruger. Ruger was the title sponsor this year and gave away 5+ or more revolvers. Several, including, I think, one of the better Classic division shooters was using a Ruger this year. Watch out S&W, Ruger is getting real serious about wooing competitive shooters.

I shot a 5" 686 PC (the one I converted from 7 to 6 shots) in the Classic division. I finished 14th in Classic, 4th in my Class and 96th overall. Didn't win a gun but got some Montana bullets.

Ruger is once again the TITTLE Match Sponsor for 2018 IRC in Mesquite, NV Sept. 27th,28th,29th, and 30th. 2018

Their new 8 shot, 5.5 inch Red Hawk looks interesting

Ruger wants in Gun Games

Ruger has signed up a whole team of pro shooters to represent the company headed by Doug Koenig. Koenig has won the Bianchi Cup so many times we've all lost count. He has been a pro for Springfield Inc. and Smith & Wesson for many years.

I own and shoot many Rugers but only the 22 long rifle semi-autos competitively. Rugers are bull strong and heavy with triggers very different from S&W. I think S&W takes the competition shooters for granted and ships a product that needs lots of work to be match ready. S&W might rise to the Ruger challenge and we'll all benefit.
