I use a surplus police speedloader pouch, with the flap cut off. If you have one with a flap that snaps, the snap must be secured as per IDPA rules, slowing your reload. Cut the flap off, "Voila!, No Snap!" and the speedloader is readily available...

Well, yes and no. As an IDPA Match Director, I allow anything that is safe at club matches to encourage participation.

However, at a sanctioned match, an awake equipment inspector would test the modified item:

"Speedloader carrier must:
.....
C. Hold the speedloader with enough tension to allow it to be turned upside down and retained while fully loaded.
D. Either be of open top configuration that holds the speedloader in by tension and covers the full diameter and body of the speedloader OR retain the speedloader with a snap or velcro closure.
(pg 37 IDPA Rulebook)

I used saturday in the match a old police pouch and just unsnapped it every reload. I saw one guy had the open ones that used tension to hold them in. thanks for the info guys.
