First off, I'm glad to be back! It's been 2.5 years since I sent my guns up to my brothers house and moved on campus for my seminary studies. We've moved off campus and I've just got my guns back and did a little rethinking of what I actually wanted to keep and what needed to go. I ended up selling one and using that to get the M&P. It looks 95+% new with just a couple of scuffs, night sights are bright and I'm looking forward to getting some range ammo and finding a nice range here around Louisville. Time is very limited during the semester for me with full time grad classes and 30 hours of work a week (plus two special needs kiddos and spending time with the lovely Mrs). Any local guys willing to take a guy and help him get back into shooting. My precious carry gun was just a tcp 380 and was pocket carried...that ain't happening with this thing . Ccw class will be mid December and probably will keep it home for now (not big on open carry). Looking forward to hearing from some of you again!

Nice,, Buds recently had unissued Detroit M&P for sale.
Check out Knob Creek to go shooting, $10 all day, 350 yard outdoor range.

Knob Creek is alright.... it's an outdoor range and you are limited to "hot range" times and "cold range times". You can only fire, reload magazines, or touch your weapon during "hot time", no chance to do anything with your target other than shoot it. During "cold time" all you can do is change or look at your target....no loading magazines, no cleaning weapons, no adjusting sights, etc.......The range officers, in my experience there, are more like drill sergeants.....I mean I get it, they're there to keep people safe and to keep inexperienced or careless shooters from hurting themselves or someone else..... But they border on being obnoxious, rude, and overall unpleasant to be around. I don't want to go to the range to listen to someone barking orders to a group of grown responsible adults. Again, if someone is screwing up, by all means.......but if not, why be obnoxious? Another thing to consider..... how long do you normally stay at the range.....an hour? So you're paying $10 an hour for this experience. Sure you "can" shoot all day for $10 if you want..... but how long do you normally stay?

Bardstown has the KY Gun CO. They have a great indoor range and every member of the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. You can pay for your range time at each visit or you can buy different levels of "membership". The membership let's you go shoot basically whenever you want, one package is weekdays only, other packages are whenever they are open. If you go shoot more than once a month, the membership is well worth it! Also, you can go as often as you want......you can go shoot every day if you like, it's covered by the membership fees. There are also other perks as part of the membership packages like free gun rental, free FFL transfers, etc. When you're on the range, you do what you want when you want. Want to change targets right now, go ahead.... want to reload magazines, have at it......want to take your pistol apart and change recoil springs, be our guest. They also have a great store with a lot of different gun related products..... Guns, accessories, reloading supplies, shirts, hats, coolers, targets, safes, on and on.

They're definitely worth checking out.
