I lucked out today i got 3 boxes of Winchester white box in 100 round boxes of .45 total of 300 rounds.. In WalMart.. Just missed 1000 rounds of Federal ya 1000 box of 5.56 earlier this week... In fact it was on the counter I said I'll take it they rung it up on my slip then another guy stepped in and said this guy here wanted them and he was before you.. I said then why are they not on his slip? I let it slide and was the nice guy and let him have the 5.56's... But at least i had a nice thing happen to me today with 300 rounds of .45 I scored!! Ahhh I feel better now.. George:o

I best edit this to keep it here.. Question: Will they work in my M&P .45?

There's a great article in the Sept issue of Guns & Ammo about the shortage of firearms, accessories and ammo. A reader wrote to the magazine and challenged them to research the problem and print the results. The column author interviewed many of the firearm mfg's and a good number of the mfg's of ammo and handloading supplies. In almost every case, the mfg's are running 24/7 and producing almost double the amount of product they were producing a year ago. Several have even invested in additional production facilities and staff in an attempt to satisfy the demand. The situation is directly associated with the significant increase in firearms purchases resulting in record levels of ammo sales to make those guns go bang. So, the result is the shelves are bare of the most popular calibers. Cabela's in my area now has 'some' .40 and 45 ACP, but it's about 25% more $$ than it was several months ago. They also had 10mm and a few other not-so-common calibers, but no 9mm, .380 or 22LR.
Unfortunately, the actions of our leaders in Washington could exacerbate the situation further.

Walmart needs to have a "take a number" box at the ammo counter. My Walmart wheels out the ammo pallet at 7:30am and there are normally a few people waiting. Most are polite and know who was there first.

I have been at Walmart at 7:00 to 7:30. It has gotten to the point we ask each other what we want so everyone has an ideal of total boxes. Then we find out what did come in and then we sorta share by making sure we all get something. I am now only after 22lr and 9mm. I see 40 all the time!

I know this has been said over and over and over again...but I really can't wait until the "7:30am crowd" stops going to Wal-Mart to parcel out the new ammo. Not hating on ya...early bird gets the worm...but come on guys, just leave the ammo alone will ya?

Oh well, I was at a local Wally World yesterday during lunch and saw 20-30 boxes of WWB .45 and Federal .40 (about 40 boxes). They had Tula as well in 9mm steel. Didn't "need" any ammo...so left it for others.

Just my .02 cents. Good luck to all.

Getting to be ammo left over at the end of the day in the Ozarks. I can go at noon to the ones that put out at 7am or next morning most times to the ones that put out at 6pm. Not much 22lr still but 9mm, 40, 38spl, 45 are back in the game. Picked up some .25 Auto this morning for pocket carry in an old Raven Arms I got back in the 70's. Not normal but much better.

Ours limits 3 boxes. I get there early to try and get the 100 round boxes. Otherwise I "might" get 3 boxes of 50 which is good for a couple days. I shoot a lot and handload supplies are harder to find than loaded ammo. Yes, I'm an addict.
