Since I retired, I've been using Turbo Tax. (I always used a CPA before, but my return isn't so complex anymore.) It works well for me.

You must be getting a lot of money back!
It appears that The final version isn't Out yet.
Agree with above - probably because of recent new tax changes.

Wow. You are the early bird. I don't have any of my W-2s or 1099s yet, so I can't file until they are ready. I've been using Turbo Tax the last couple of years after using Tax Act for three or four years. I used to do it all by hand, but I got lazy (or was it smarter) a few years ago. After efiling I usually have my refund in about 10 days or so.

I've already "done" my taxes using Turbo Tax however I can't file until the 18th. I guess the IRS hasn't released the final copy of form 1040 yet.

It's not because I'm an Early Bird! It's just that I have an unusual tax situation this filing year, that means I may have to pay some added taxes!

Oh no, I hope that's not the case. I think we all pay enough taxes as it is. According to my Turbo tax that I'm ready to file this year I will be getting back some dough. I plan on popping on a new performance center 929.

I've used TurboTax for years. I like to plan it for as close to no refund and no tax owed as I can get. I have no interest in loaning the feds my money at 0 interest for a year.

Due to the fact I have a lot of REITs and by law they get a exception on when their results & paper work come out I normal get my taxes done in early April. My tax girl is good and normally we just about break even with either a small refund coming or a small number to send in. I agree with you why give the governments my money to use before you have to!

I have a fairly complicated financial situation, and have always used TurboTax for at least the last 25 years. Up until about 5 years ago, the "Basic" version of TurboTax did everything I needed done. And it was cheap, about $15. Then they broke it up into three different levels, and I now have to use the top level (Premier) for mine. And it costs about $70. But I really don't have much choice. I tried H&R Block's tax program one year but found it to be actually user-hostile, and I would NEVER use it again as it was a terrible experience.
