Everytime I try to see if AT&T uverse and dsl are in my area I get some off the wall info that puts my street address in another town 45 miles away. I would like to do something to get away from DishTV and combine my internet with the same Co. I cannot Skype on Clearwire since it is not fast enough. I really do not want to do business with time warner but, I may soon go that route. My DishTV really sucks, everytime there is a good cloud cover I lose service. Not to mention the C/S with Dish is all but non existant.

I've used AT&T DSL since 2005 and have been quite pleased with it. The distance between your home and the central switching office (think big junction box) has a tremendous effect on the actual speed you receive. I live a block from the big box and generally get 5.2 Mbps download and 0.67 Mbps upload. My package is rated for 6.0 down and 0.750 up. It has been very reliable. I lost service for a couple of days when a backhoe tore a buried cable. Service after hurricane Ike was spotty for a week or so, but far more reliable than folks using cable Internet services. Once I lost dial tone on my phone but did not loose my Internet connection and used my computer to get my phone service restored.
