Decided to go ahead and go, so i left midday figuring
would'nt be much of a line to stand in if i arrived around
noon. When i pulled up to the light at 38th and Fall Creek
After waving/honking the truck horns happily and giving a big (thumbs up) to the crowd of peaceful protesters gathered
to show their displeasure with the recent executive orders against
our 2nd amendment rights i looked towards the South Pavillion
and the crowd was still wound clear around the south side of
the building. A good 500 yards long line to get in the doors.
I paid my 5 bucks to park and got in line. They kept the lines
moving pretty well and had plenty of people working to sell
the tickets and check weapons at the door so the line was
moving briskly. Took me 35 minutes to get inside.
Once inside it was elbow to elbow with a lot of folks carrying
guns for sale. I'd guess 1 out of ten people we're carrying an
AR or AK of some type hoping to sell. Most of these folks had
signs on their person or on the gun itself with price. Most we're
in the 1200-1500 ballpark range for the AR's and 8-900 for
the AK's would be a general average. One table just inside the
doors had cases of primers for sale which surprised me. I am
set on primers so i did'nt check the price. Lots of Magazines for
sale in the 30-35 per range for AR's and AK mags could be bought for 15-20 buck per. All in all a good show with a lot of
diverse guns for sale. Not much in the way of loaded factory
ammo for sale or components either other than the afore
mentioned primers. Powder was scarce and good bullets as well.
I took some trading fodder with me and sold a few things--
an old AR A2 upper i had in the back of the safe and a H&R
handy rifle in .500 S&W. So made a little money to bring
home after dropping some cash on a little 7.62x39 ammo.
Last stop i made was at the NRA table to renew my member
ship as it was about expired. This above all else made my day.
As a bonus they had a discount/show special price to renew.
All in all a good saturday spent among friends.
