A friend has a S&W folding knife that he would like to get some info on. He has owned the knife for many years, he said 40ish. It is new in box. There are two numbers on the end of the blue S&W box. 1656 in blue over a second number in 6060 in red. It is a large folder with S&W logo about the size of a Buck or a Puma.

I would like as much info as I can get for him and estimated value if possible. Thanks much. Tom

Tom, The S&W knife, Model 6060. is called the "Maverick Folding Hunter." The inlay wood is rosewood. It could also be had with the clip point. Model 6061, or the drop point blade, Model 6062. Value is in the $75 - $100 range, if NIB. They came with an imitation leather ( "Wessonhide") belt sheath in 1980. original price was $29.95 and they were made in the S&W factory by S&W, not by a licensee. Ed.
