info on blued Victory model .38

picked this up at LGS today. All numbers match. The V is on one side of the swivel. the numbers 477200 on the other. The picture does not do it justice. The bluing is nice but has holster wear. The grips are not original. The bluing has been redone I think. Nice action and bore.

You Victory model experts what is your assessment? any idea of age?

OP,Im glad you posted this. Is there any set rule on finish of the Victory series of revolvers? As what finish did they have when they left the factory.

Not the correct stocks, but those are really nice.

The finish is not original. By the time this gun was made, ~1943, they were shipping with Black Magic finish, IIRC. The grips are from the 1910-20 decade.

You can probably recoup some of the purchase price selling those pie pan stocks from the teen's. Too bad the revolver was so poorly refinished. Still should be a fun shooter.
