C 421648 would be likely to have shipped in 1959. Is there a model number stamped on the frame in the yoke area (MOD. 10)? The changeover to model numbering started around that SN neighborhood, but it would probably have occurred at a little higher SN. It would likely be a (pre-Model 10) Military and Police (M&P) Model.

You have a .38 Military & Police revolver. It can also be called a pre Model 10.

Thanks guys and there is no Model number in the yoke area. That was where I first looked for one.
