Besides the sentimentality it's a very desirable gun for ccw. In a week you won't remember the $500 you dropped on a CA approved gun, likely a generic, plastic 9mm that will have zero meaning to you. DON'T sell your father's gun!!!
I have my dad's duty and off duty revolvers. I never carry them, but definitely cherish them.
