Here's a cute little surprise I picked up recently..........a S&W Model 43, dating to 1958, according to a friend. I got a call from a gunshop in Georgia telling me I'd won an auction on Gunbroker, I had bid on several guns and didn't remember much about this one. It's a 3.5" alloy J-frame with a steel cylinder and a flat latch. Chambered in 22LR, it's only my fourth J-frame, and my first S&W 22. It has some minor scuffs here and there but aside from those it looks nearly unfired.........I think it spent most of its time in a drawer, sliding around and bumping into things. The stocks will be replaced with something a little more hand-filling, probably a nice checkered set of Spegels. I'm predicting it shoots better than I do.
