I have been watching the news lately both local and national and I see a lot of politicians and media types are calling for the re-instatement of the AWB.
They interview people outside gunshows and other places hoping to get a sound bite or two, not caring for the truth. the truth of the matter is from what I can see this man that did the shooting gave all the signs of having mental difficulty to his family, his fellow students and the local police. Yet no one thought to move forward with any action. If they had maybe the tragedy could have been prevented maybe not. I realize that a determined person will carry out what ever mission they have assigned themselves.
A few weeks ago my daughter and I were in my Chevy Avalanche and we were rear ended by an armoured truck, some damage to my truck but no injuries to us thank goodness. However if i had been driving my wife's Malibu we both would have been seriously hurt.
When I spoke to the insurance adjuster he told me two things the biggest problem with my truck was all the steel it was made of and that in the future the government is trying to legislate those types of vehicles out of existance. This is much like the gun control debate.
I am 49 going to be 50 in a few weeks and I have worked very hard to own what I have and feel that I should be able to own what ever I can logically andlegally afford to and it should not matter to the politicians or anyone else. I feel this goes for everyone, if some one wants to own a a magazine that holds many rounds that is their business not mine unless that person makes it mine. If a man or woman wants to legally own an full auto firearm that is their business and no one elses. If they want to own several hundred firearms same goes or if they want town an airplane or whatever.
I get tired of other people wether they be politicians , media types or just the plain old Joe or Jane telling me and others what we can own, they would not put up with it from me so I don't want to ut up with it from them. I help other people out when they need it wether I know them or not so I am not anti social I just figure my business is my business.
thats the end of my rant.
