Which case with keyboard is the best? C’mon techs, save me some hassle, Amazon has a lot of them, most reviews are “I just got mine 30 minutes ago and it’s great” etc.
What advice, y’all?

I have the mini and the 12.9 inch pro.

I have tried a few keyboards for both and really didn't like them.

I hated the Apple keyboard case for the 12.9 and sold it after a month. I still have an older apple mini keyboard (came with a mac computer) for when I travel, but as far as keyboard cases, I haven't liked any.

I know there are other hard shell aluminum cases for the 12.9 that are suppose to mimic a laptop, but isn't that defeating the main advantage to the iPad, the size, weight and thinness?

If it was my only computing device, I'd have to live with one of the hardshell case, and I'd like one that charges while attached to the iPad, but not likely to find that in a 3rd party case.

I use an iPad exclusively — no longer own a laptop or notebook. I have had three iPads to date, and currently use an iPad Pro 10.5. I found the 12.9 great for video consumption, but unwieldy in my lap, which is where the iPad typically is when I use it.

I rarely use a keyboard, as I find the on screen keyboard sufficient for most tasks, but, when I do, I use a full size bluetooth Apple keyboard.

To protect the iPad, the solution I have settled on is a clear plastic back cover and a stick on/peel off glass film screen protector. This combo protects while keeping the profile very thin and light, which I think is the whole point of the iPad. I use a separate, small, adjustable, aluminum stand for video consumption or reading the newspaper with breakfast.

If you want a keyboard always, you might consider one of the small MacBook Pros. My wife uses one, and it is quite close to the size of an iPad with a keyboard case.

As you know, I travel a bit :D, and use iPad exclusively too, I have a pretty fresh iPad...
Considering the Pro, but want to see if any of our sharp cookies here have a good report on the alternative before switching devices.:)
