Iphone or Droid?

I bought the droid, I like it. I was told everything done with the Iphone has to be apple compatible. Also everyone I know with a smart phone has a droid.

Dont have one myself but my wife and both children have droids. My son had a Iphone and now has a droid. All three of them love the droids and wont change back.

I lost my motorola phone in the lake while fishing. We decided to get my wife one of the new do everything phones and I would take her phone. She got the SAMSUNG GALAXY. Its Android. My daughter has a computer degree and is over the computer systems at a local university. She has the Iphone. She came by and looked at the new Samsung, and helped my wife set it up with all the latest downloads, and bells and whistles. After she finished, I asked her how the Samsung was, and she said she likes it better than her Iphone. Its a nice phone but It sure did cost a lot.

Trac phone. All I want to do with my phone is make phonecalls. Texting and all that other stuff means nothing to me.

I've got a Droid and love it. Its an LG Optimus running android 2.2 There are TONS of FREE apps that do everything I want. It does so many cool things. I can use it as a level to hang a picture, check my bank balance while standing in line, navigate on the road with the GPS and google maps, scan a barcode at a store and find out everything about a product including reviews and prices at stores nearby, and more, more more.

I have had a Droid X since November. I seldom ever take my laptop anywhere any more. I have a few objections. It requires a reboot once in a while, I don't know why. It doesn't lose anything though when that happens. The virtual keyboard takes getting used to, and the screen is really too small for long documents or spreadsheets.
As a phone, it's about average. It's more of a computer you can make phone calls from. John

SO and I just got the Driod X 2 days ago. So far I am really diggin it. As with my Harley, the only regret is..... That I didn't do it sooner!

Found the IPhone to be a great phone .. but after using the wifes droid.. I found the bigger screen eaiser to see for these old eyes..;) and the keyboard was a bit bigger...

Both handled Kindle...Pandora...very well.. I also though the contact list ws eaiser to manage on the droid..

Good day to you sir!:)

I am learning towards the Droid X. The only real complaint I read is battery life. Was thinking about the HTC Evo from Sprint but it has a lot more bad reviews. They all have some bad reviews so I'll just have to pick one I guess.

Thanks to all for the advice. Keep em coming please.

I don't own either phones - have been researching it a bit myself.

If you're researching - look up information about 'jailbreaking' an iphone. I don't know much about it myself, but apparently...it opens up a lot of options to iphone users.

Please pardon - if this *is in poor taste*, feel free to delete. It's not illegal but can/will void the warrantee.
