I have a S&W M&P 2.0 that has the cut for an optic and very high rear sight and front sight. I suppose that is so the iron sights can co witness the optic.
Can I replace the iron sight with a tru glo or trijicon sight that is normally used on a 2.0 without the optic cut?

No.

The front should work but the rear is a completely different style. The dovetail is at the extreme end of the slide, instead of 1/2 inch or so forward.

You would need to find a specific rear

Thanks. Much appreciated.
You are 100% correct. The rear sight is almost to the back of the slide and it is a different cut than the ones on a M&P not set up for an optic. I suppose Smith's figures if you are buying it set up for an optic you are going to use one.
