This is the first I've heard of this proposed bill:

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.

The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage, <A href="http://www.senate.gov/" target=_new _fcksavedurl="http://www.senate.gov/">http://www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099.

You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to every gun owner you know to help STOP this bill!!

Obviiously a hoax, but this is the kind of crap that makes all kinds of people wig out. It is not a stretch to believe that many bills fly through under the radar. With this liberal gun hating majority in congress and an anti-gun president, it would behoove us to keep a close eye on all alerts to whacko bills. We can easily disprove the fake ones, and assure that real ones do not get through without being noticed.

LMAO! Where do people come up with this garbage. Like we don't have enough legitimate issues to be concerned with? Breath folks, long, slow, deep breaths.

This one may not be legit, but about a year ago, my wife and I along with several other NRA members, met in a womans home near us to meet and chat with former congressman Joe Knollenburg. He is very pro 2A. He told us that there are all kinds of bills just like this that get pushed every day on capitol hill. Eventually some make it through on the tail of another.

With the MSM clearly against us, how will we ever hear about most of these? Outside of forums like this, and FOX news, where do you really hear about any of this stuff?

The old boy scout motto applies here now more than ever.

As Penn and Teller would say, this is BS
Check the facts before spreading this drivel.

The first clue is that it puts an agency having nothing to do with the topic in charge of the topic, IRS making gun registration requirements? How 'bout ATF changing tax code rules or tax forms? Would that be credible?
I know the grabbers will try anything, but you have to watch this stuff carefully when you see it, try and think before you leap. Thats said as one who has fallen for this kind of stuff myself once or twice...

I am confident that the NRA, Second Amendments Foundation, and Gun owners of A, watch for this stuff everyday. Marion Hammer watches for it in Florida.
Obviously we must be vigilant but it’s hard to slip one through, too many people have to know about it to get it passed a the national level.
I would check with one of the above before getting too excited.
