While I wouldn't go so far as to say I like the guy, I think the OP is interesting. I've been wondering much of late myself. In a nutshell, I think we just starting to see what
Heller may be doing for us. Our President-along with many other Democrats-is suddenly finding himself having to look in a camera or a mirror and say things like
since the second amendment guarantees an individual's right to bear arms; all I can say is what a great serving of humble pie.
Must be like a drinking problem, its harder for some to admit than others, like the Speaker for example, or McCarthy.
Who here could imagine an attached amendment to a credit bill that allowed CCW in our NPs would get voted through and signed by a Democratic hill? There is no trick here, I think the fact speaks loudly where we currently stand on the Federal level. Nothing short of amazing, and I'll point out that a few years ago any forum member who suggested the day would come would have been laughed at and kicked around pretty badly for the opinion, yet here we are. Feels pretty good, doesn't it? Ironic that so many of us (myself included) aren't yet finding comfort. Sure, there are plenty of front lines left for us to go and fight, and we will do just that as a lobby. We have no choice.
It should be becoming obvious to us by now that within the ranks of the left, there is division on this issue. A lot of it, more so than ever. I dunno if Obama is among them, but its safe to say that many Dem's have thrown in the towel on most gun control measures in the face of
Heller and the '94 butt kicking they got. The others think they can still save the world with their agenda and they aren't going away any time soon. I find it very interesting/revealing that within the Democratic party they didn't even have the clout this past week to stop this CCW in National Parks from becoming the new law of the land. I am keeping the fingers crossed tight.
