Is it safe to use steel ammo case (wolf ammo)

I mainly shoot wolf in 45acp, 9mm luger, 9mm makarov, 223rem and never had one problem yet with it. I tested a brand new '05 auto ordnance army WW2 copy 1911a1 with over 500rds with no failures/jams of any kind using the wolf coated ammo. We ran 250rds non stop per each range visit. I do use the USGI rifle bore cleaner when i clean them too. During WW2 the US used steel cased ammo in there 1911's too.

I just ran a bunch of Blazer aluminum through my M&P 9, followed by some Wolf brass. It was fine, and actually not very dirty. I normally clean my weapons every time I'm finished after a day at the range, but that could have been my old Drill Sgt's voice in my head I still hear after all these years.

Thanks for all the reply's everyone its very much appreciated. Ive decided to mostly stay away from steel cased ammo, I'll run a few box's through it to see how it likes it but for the most part I'm going to stick to brass for regular shooting or bulk ammo buys.

I shoot Wolf steel cased 30 Carbine ammo and while I have heard that the steel is hard on the extractor I have not had any problems in over 1000 rounds. I would prefer to shoot brass cases but unfortunately I do not re-load that caliber and don't want to pay what they are selling for.

I purchased a few spare GI M1 carbine extractors (5 bucks ea.) so if I do chip one I'll just change it out - no biggie.

5.56 belt fed ammo

I came across 900 rounds of 5.56 on the belt for the M249 Saw machine gun.
Is there a trick to remove the ammo from the belt or a tool to use?

No steel casings going into any guns of mine, but then i tend to be fussy.

I have a Spikes Tactical AR and have shot Tula 223 steel cased with no problems. Before the panic I would usually order brass cased ammo over the internet for around 30 cents a round. I would run into Academy and grab the Tula for $5 for a box of 20 if I was going to make a range trip and didn't want to shoot up my supply. The first week of December I put a big dent in my stock shooting with my son and nephew. They are one of the main reason's I bought an AR, because I enjoy shooting it with them. As far as the Steel Ammo goes if you can get it a decent price right now go for it. If the scare ever ends you should be able to get some decent brass cased ammo in bulk deals for just a few more pennies a shot. I have a pretty good supply on hand but I ain't shooting my AR right now because I don't want to pay 50cents or up for ammo.
