Is the .25 ACP worth reloading?

No it's probably not practical unless you're going to shoot a LOT of 25 acp!
But I just can't help myself. OK I'm a compulisve reloader. I admit it. and the little 25 is just FUN to load.

Back when I had substntialy more hair , I bought a Raven .25 . It completely missed the paper at 7yd , probably had to do with the 20lb + trigger. Not to mention sights that were invisable , and so-called safety that released itself. I quickly replaced it with the then state of the art micro pistol - AMT .380 .

Later on I picked up a Bauer. But with my XXL hands , only a third of one finger fits on the grip , and the backstrap doesn't reach to the web of my hand , so practical accuraccy is poor. But regardless , for a brief time added to BUG rotation. While it could be carried in exotic deep concealment ( shirt pocket, cigarette pack, etc) when carried for rapid access , I found I could just as easily pack an M37 . No contest , went with M37 and didn't look back.

But this past weekend haf my eyes opened ! One of my friends asked me to "go over" his dust covered pistol that had only been handled rarely ( but not fired ) for decades. A 1948 mfg Astra Firecat . No blue wear, light tarnish on chrome (?) Trigger. So that is what 90% 95% ? Reliable with the tarnished ammo in the clip , as well as current UMC .

But what cought my attention : all steel , yet 13oz. Big enough to get one whole finger on the grip and back strap confortably fill hand and reliably depress grip safety. While still being small enough for ez pocket use.

Usable sights , and 4lb trigger. Minute of soda can @ 7yd !Heck this is good enough to plink with.

This gun overcomes 2 of the 3 reasons that .25acp's are pointless. Reliable , safe , and good practical accuracy. The fatal flaw for the intended SD use is still the utter lack of power, but somthing like this would make a fun toy. FWIW , in my area .25 ammo is more avail than .22lr . And .25 was $18 on sale while .22lr is $8.99/50 .
