We've already done so to a large extent...
...many years and administrations ago.
IMHO it kicked into gear with Carter giving away the canal...NAFTA and various other agreements have done a lot of damage as well. In the end, it came down to the American people themselves handing it all away on a platter and continue/will continue to do so long after the current administration is a memory.
Every United States citizen bares some culpability on events as they are now...we ALL allowed it to happen and to get this far. I fear that in truth, there may be no way back now.
