Is there a custom slide for a M&P .40 cal

I recently purchased a S&W, M&P, .40 cal.

I just finished my states CCDW class.
The instructor might have been a Glock
Salesman the way he acted about them.
Any way he had his "tricked out".
Trigger adjusted so there wsan't as
long of a "pull". There was a
"Compensation Slide"
(I think that is what he called it?)

Is there a place to purchase or have
someone customize my M&P .40 cal.? The
"compensation slide" had "slots" on the
side of slide, up by the front sights.
It basicly eliminated all recoil. This
would be an awesome thing to be able to do.

Any help or suggestion would be great.

Thanks y'all

I am new here, should this be under

"S&W-Smithing"

Smith & Wesson does not currently offer a ported slide/barrel as a factory option (I'm not sure if they will port a pistol as an after-market performance center enhancement) , but if you are really interested Magnaport International can perform the service. Last I knew, auto porting was somewhere around $150. Try the web site below.

I have model 29 that is magnaported. Great for recoil reduction but puts up killer flash in your face. That's the only gun I'll ever have done that way. I have an M&P 40 and M&P 40c and they are great guns. Do a search on Dan Burwell. He's doing a lot of cool stuff to the M&P's. I done my own trigger job on both of mine using Burwell's instructions with great results. Google him up and also look on the M&P forum for ideas.

I would encourage you to reconsider magnaporting a carry gun as the muzzle flash is significant. In regards to your trigger....do it yourself one round at a time. Take the money you would have spent on a trigger/action job and buy more ammo. Then, shoot your gun a lot. The more you shoot it the better IT gets and you get to improve your own skills at the same time. My M&P has over 7000 rounds down range and it just keeps on getting better.
