I just ordered two boxes of the Federal Premium Champion Target, AM22, .22 LR. 40 gr. LRN., (325 rds.) for $13.99 a box. So the total cost was $35.97 W/shipping, that works out to about .06 cents per rd., tell me what you think. The web site I orderd from was marlinfirearmssource.com.

Federal bulk at my walmart is 18.99+tax which equals out to
.037 cents per round. so to me .06 cents a round seems expensive.

agreed...in my local shops SOMEBODY usually has Federal Bulk on sale for less than $20 for 550 packs...my top score was Winchester M-22 3000 rounds for $110!!!

however if mail order is your only option then ya...thats not a bad price for mailorder

Riderrick's ammunition SOUNDS like higher-quality target stuff than the usual bulk-backed hi-vel cartridges at Wally World or where-ever. But I don't know anything about it really.

22LR is 22LR...i know everyone wants to argue ballistics and muzzle-velocity etc--all valid info-- but target ammo for me is the best price-per-shot i can find...and its hard to beat Federal Bulk ammo...550 rounds @ $18-20

he asked if it was a good price

Walmart sells it for that price so I doubt you are going to find it elsewhere for much less.

I found CCI Blazer in my local gun store (Ammo Bros in Cerritos) for $20 for the 525 bulk pack, comes out to $0.038 so for me, $0.06 is expensive.

gander mountain has a special on federal bulk 525 with a rebate . it comes out to about 2 cents per bullet . the sale ends august 17th

Yep, anything more than 4¢/round is not a stellar deal. But firing 500 rounds in an afternoon's training/entertainment at 6¢ vs 4¢ is only 10 bucks extra. 500 rounds of 5.56 is gonna cost ya $200!

Speaking of ammo.

Another guy at club today had a week old M&P15-22. Was into the 500's of rounds of Remington "yellow box" (or whatever the dreaded cartridge is) without a stoppage. None. Nada. (I had not brought my two year old M&P15-22 as I was zeroing a new and a rebuilt 5.56mm carbine.)

to me, automatch is not the same as federal bulk, or any bulk for that matter. but i do think its overkill in a 15-22. get something cheaper.

I'm always on the prowl for cheap .22.

Best recent deal I found was Cabelas.

4 boxes of Federal 525 packs And a free ammo box for $72.99.

Since this ammo is the favorite of both my mp15-2 and my buck mark- I bought an embarrassingly huge amount with this deal.

Haha I go to the one in Ontario. Actually even though $20 for me is good, they and Turners ALWAYS do better. The cheapest I bought was $14 for that same pack from Ammo Bros.

Keep looking at their weekly(Ammo bros is every 2-3 weeks) ads and you'll find CCI Blazer go on sale for $16 or less.
