Is this some kind of mistake? M&PC heavier than the Full-size M&P?!

So I've been looking into getting an M&P as a Winter Carry gun later this year and I just noticed something shocking on the product pages, apparently the M&P 2.0 Compact is somehow a good 3oz heavier than the full-size M&P. I thought that the M&PC was just a smaller version of the full-size, so how/why does it weigh more?

M&P(R)40 M2.0™ 4" Compact | Smith & Wesson

Honestly, I assuming (hoping) that this is some sort of error in which S&W swapped the weights between the Full-size and Compact M&P, otherwise this is completely ridiculous.

Also, what's the difference between Melonite and Armornite?

That's weird. The link you put up for the FS is just like my model except w/o thumb safety, both are 25.9 oz.
Maybe 28 oz. for the Compact is a mistake.

Melonite and Armornite are both forms of ferritic nitrocarburizing, a case hardening process that infuses nitrogen and carbon into ferrous metals at sub critical temps (977 farenheit to 1.157 farenheit) during a salt bath.
The process improves, scuffing, fatigue and corrosion resistance.

Armornite is just S&W's branding of the same process that Melonite treatment does. Glock's Tennifer is a similar form of ferritic nitrocarburizing.

The S&W catalog lists the weights of the M&P models and they are all over the place, with some FS weighing less than the Compacts and some weighing more.
