This is a Smith and Wesson Hand Ejector 2nd Model in .455 Webley/Eley and I am 99% sure this is a match to the one used in raiders of the lost ark from bapty gun rentals(besides the barrel being cut to 4 inches) It has a 6.5 inch barrel, blued finish. British Proof marks to the right of the marking "Smith and wesson .455 and on the inside of the cylinder. It also has a mark above the gold medallion. Can anyone confirm this to put my mind at ease

What I meant to say is, do I have the exact same Gun, minus cutting down the barrel?

I dont want to ruin the gun by cutting it down, but its good to know I finally got my hands on the real deal

You can certainly make it “the one”. Go to your local notary public and sign a notarized statement that it is “the one” used in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Then offer it for sale and kick back and collect the big bucks. :)

A recent Bonham’s Auction proved how easily this could be done. Plenty of revolvers offered for sale accompanied with notarized letters that presented various levels of dubious claims, but this didn’t prevent bidders from reaching into their pockets VERY deeply!

Just to clarify the OP's context :

Is this THE Gun that was one of the two revolvers used in filming the 1981 movie ? No .

Is the OP's gun the same model and variant as the donor gun before it was tweaked either by the Prop company on purpose , or by unknown shooter before aquited by Prop House ? Certainly seems to be .

Not ‘THE’ revolver but ‘A’ .455 Smith & Wesson that is the same model that Indy’s .45 Smith was created from. I used a pair of them last month at our club’s BAMM. One altered to .45colt and the other to .45 Schofield? Great revolvers. You’ve got a very nice one.

You want to find something with some wear on it. Indy didn't carry a safe queen. A 4" chopped barrel will help too. Here is my commercial 1917 that is kind of close in looks:

Here is my old .455 that would fit the bill if the barrel was a little longer and a different front site:

Also Is anyone able to tell from these pictures if this is the original finish. I know it’s in very good condition but I am newer to firearms and want to learn how to tell if it is.

Yes, it appears to be original. For refinishes - rounded metal edges, blurred stampings, wide sideplate seams, pitting below the blue/nickel, internals or stocks looking more worn than the metal condition. And that is just the short list. :)
