ISRA Alert - Anti-Gun Representative Didech to Hold Town Hall Meeting in Lincolnshire
"Donuts with Dan", Saturday, June 29 at 12:30 p.m. at the Vernon Area Public Library, 300 Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire
Freshman Anti-Gun Illinois State Representative Daniel Didech (D-59) Has a Town Hall meeting on Saturday.
He's learned on the run. Before the echo from his oath of office had died down, Rep. Didech had authored legislation (HB888) to create a Thought-Police arm of the Illinois State Police to investigate your social media presence before issuing your FOID card or approving a background check call. How's that for putting a chill on a person's 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights?
Didech also signed on as a sponsor of both versions of the FOID bill (HB96, SB1966 ) designed to penalize gun ownership with increased fees, transfer restrictions, fingerprints, and travel requirements. He didn't just vote for SB1966, which passed the Illinois House with anti-gun amendments, he was an active sponsor of both bills, signaling his intent to vote for these bills, to punish you.
But wait, there's more: Dan Didech also sponsored legislation (HB1467) to register all of your ammo purchases, require anyone selling ammunition to keep special records and report those sales to the Illinois State Police.
Here is the action request for this alert:
Go to this meeting, "Donuts with Dan", a coffee gathering, Saturday, June 29 at 12:30 p.m. at the Vernon Area Public Library, 300 Olde Half Day Road in Lincolnshire. Engage Representative Didech with your issues and viewpoints. The meeting is at a public building, you cannot be turned away unless the room exceeds capacity. Go there. Dan Didech wants to pry into your life and wants to make firearms ownership a burden on you.
Why is it important to go?
Dan Didech wants you to pay a fine for being a gun owner, and wants to take your fingerprints, treating you like a criminal.
Dan Didech wants to ban all firearms private transactions, unless they go through decreasing number of newly Illinois-Licensed FFLs for a price-controlled fee that the FFLs can't function under.
Dan Didech wants the police to look at what you may have written on the internet and shared with your friends, to decide whether or not you get to exercise your fundamental civil right to own a firearm. And all this through an unfunded mandate upon the Illinois State Police.
Dan Dedich wants to know when you bought ammunition, what kind, and how much, and wants the Illinois State Police to keep track of all that, too!
Dan Didech and the other anti-gunners really want to take all of your firearms, and think the steps above are incremental, the things they can get away with now.
Dan Didech's actions impact all Illinois Gun Owners, you and your friends need to share this with him.
Talking points for bills in this alert:
SB1966:
Blames lawful gun owners for sensationalized violence committed by prohibited persons.
Attempts to make gun ownership a financial and procedural hardship.
Requires fingerprints to exercise a constitutional right.
Bans private transfers that already occur under a background check.
Unlawfully sets price controls on FFL and fingerprint services.
Does not impact criminals nor criminal behavior.
HB888:
Forces you to disclose your social media accounts to the police
Forces the police to look through those accounts, to apply cloudy subjective criteria to whether or not you are "allowed" to have a FOID card (may issue) or to make a purchase.
No impact on criminals.
HB1467:
Registration of ammunition purchases by sellers, and reporting to the ISP
ISP must create a searchable database system for all this info and then manage it.
Criminals do not buy ammunition at the store.
