We had the best Monsoon thunderstorm in 5 years yesterday. It started around 1:30 and dropped 2.75 inches in less than 2 hours. These storms are very localized with areas as close as half a mile getting far less but we were at ground zero. Unfortunately it washed out our shooting as you have to cross the wash to get to the range. )o;

This was our back yard at 2:00. When the firewood began to float away we moved to higher ground. (o;

This is the normally bone dry wash behind our house after one hour of rain.

The storm drains couldn't begin to keep up with the runoff.

Hey Capt, I logged in only a total of 4.6 inch in July, about right for the East side of the Chiricahua Mtns. Had my 4th Diamondback and one Black-tailed just to stir things up a bit.

Nice pics Steve! All that water brings back memories of three months ago when we had over 17 inches of rain in two days. The great Nashville flood! Oh, by the way, please don't send any more heat this way! What a hot as hell summer we're having! With the humidity, it's unbearable. Although it hasn't stopped me from firing up the Weber!
Scoutsdad....beautiful scenery you have! Except the flooded driveway of course!

We sure needed it the temps have been real reasonable this weekend under 90, I was up on Mount Lemon Friday night for dinner at the Iron Gate Restaurant and when I came down the hill at about 9PM it was raining so hard the water couldn't get off the road fast enough so it was like a 6" deep river almost the entire way down. Great Lightning show going on all around the Valley.

I spent the rainy weekend about a thousand feet above Payson, AZ --- intermittent showers thru the night and into early afternoon today, refreshingly cool and overcast with no radiant solar heat gain! Made the road down Mt. Ord a little greasy and got the trucks muddy, but no significant problems. Even got in a little plinking between rainfall. The forest sure needed the precipitation.
