It’s Here!

Almost 12 weeks exactly it was delivered today. My new El Paso Saddlery 1930 “Austin” Holster. This is one fine holster. Very well made. I have never owned a holster of this quality before. I usually buy regular production holsters but this one was worth the price and the wait. Although I thought russet color was a dark reddish brown this one looks more tan. I really don’t care though it is just a great holster. The fit is rather tight right now but I’m sure it will loosen up with use. It is perfect for my mode of carry which I won’t discuss here but it will be my EDC holster for my Colt Combat Commander.

This is what my idea of russet looks like. Also, it's Rick Bachman's (Old West Reproductions) Yours looks like tan to me, but it's a good looking holster!

I agree 100%. It looks tan to me too. I think the holster in your photo is russet also. Now I’m looking for a Texas Ranger style belt and don’t know which color to get. I wrote to El Paso Saddlery and told them I was disappointed with the holster color but they never answered me. I used the form on their website so maybe it’s not working.

Looks like you got caught in the rain and the holster shrunk a few inches...... LOL!! Just funnin' ya! I have a few Rick Bachman holsters and belts for Cowboy Action Shooting that withstood 20 + years of S.A.S.S. competition, they still look good and perform as designed.

Mine are Russet like yours and I guess El Paso has a different idea of what Russet it. It could also be someone just made a mistake. Quite honestly, the El Paso holster posted above is not a bad color and for that particular gun might actually go better than a reddish Russet color.

I always thought their Russet was different from that, but I really love that particular holster in the color yours came in! They make a great product that will last many decades if taken care of. Thanks for sharing!
