In the past few weeks I've ordered and received three types of holsters for the BG 2.0 Two of them are pocket holsters and the third type is an OWB Crossdraw. All are well made and represent a good investment.

1. BSholsters offers a pocket holster made from Water Buffalo leather. It is tiny but completely covers the trigger guard. The fit to the BG 2.0 is perfect. The holster has a curved tip which catches on your pocket as you pull up and back on the pistol grip. This reliably draws the pistol just as you would want. Construction is solid and I expect this holster to last a very long time. The BG 2.0 version is not on their website as of this writing but should appear there shortly. I got mine from Ebay for $27 which is less than similar leather holsters on the website. Shipping was in 2 days. BSholsters - Pocket Holster, Wallet Holster, Holsters

2. Alabama Holsters makes a kydex pocket holster for the BG 2.0 It is larger than the BSholster version but still fits comfortably in my pocket. It is flatter across the front and so probably prints less than the BSholster. The AH version also has the curved tip for auto-draw as you pull back and up on the pistol grip. But in addition the AH has a thumb "release" on the back top wall of the holster. Before you draw the pistol out, you can push down on this release with your thumb and this will partially draw the pistol while it's still in your pocket. I greatly prefer this to the "up and back" style because you have more feedback from your hand on the readiness of the pistol. Options for my Front Pocket Carry version were for a mag release cover, retention adjustment screw, laser, and a RedDot variant. Even though I ordered the standard holster, production took 3 weeks. Shipping was by USPS for $8. The holster itself costs $45 which is a good deal for this quality of manufacture. There are also ambi, deep cover, and cargo pocket versions. 3. Craft Holsters (aka Falco) is a maker of leather holsters, kydex, and nylon/leather holsters. I got the nylon cross draw holster which comes with a leather retention strap. Code: It. C826 These holsters are made in Slovakia and production took 3 weeks. These guys are truly custom manufacturers even at such a low price. The standard cross draw for the BG 2.0 leaves maybe a third of the trigger guard uncovered. This was not acceptable to me. I emailed their front office staff who then negotiated with the holster makers. After about one day, I was told that they would modify the holster (at no charge) to completely cover the trigger guard. They did exactly that with no hindrance to a smooth draw. The holster is well made with fine attention to detail. It is really a tight fit (that is intentional) so you have to place your pistol in a plastic bag and push it into the holster and snap the retention strap. Let it sit overnight to form-fit the holster to the pistol. If you go for the more expensive leather version, there is a bit more complicated process for relaxing the leather and form fitting it. My Craft Holsters cross draw cost only $44 dollars (there seems to always be a 20% sale going on) but I paid an additional $21 for UPS shipping. (So I got 2 holsters and still only paid $21 for shipping) I received the holsters within 2 days of UPS picking them up from the shop in Slovakia. Cross Draw Gun Holster | Craft Holsters(R)

I have the Muddy River Tactical kydex.

It fits great in my pocket. Just the right amount of grip to the gun. I really like the thumb push-off. My draw is very easy.

It covers the mag release so there no chance of any pressure inside my pocket to accidentally release the mag.

Excellent quality and the Customer Support from Muddy River Tactical has been outstanding for me.

I think the Muddy River holster you have is very similar to the version I got from Alabama Holsters. I think AH pioneered this design because MR only restarted its line of pocket holsters with the BG 2.0. Alabama Holsters has a wider line of ambi, cargo pocket, and deep cover versions in addition to the front pocket carry you and I have.

I have heard good things about both the Muddy River and Alabama Holsters and they seem to be about the same price. Competition is a good thing. :D I don't know about Alabama Holsters customer service. They took 3 weeks to build the holster and their communication with me was minimal. Fortunately I didn't have anything I needed to communcate and the end product was exactly what I wanted.

Longtime Alabama Holster customer, and always was pleased with the results. Accidentally ordered the screw retention model for the BG2.0, and it never worked well. I adjusted the screw, added spacers, it just never drew well.
Because of past, positive experience, I had high hopes for the original version, and have one on order.
We'll see how this one works out.
Currently using a DeSantis pocket rig, which actually is working well enough.

Please keep us informed about your BG 2.0 in the Alabama Holster. I have the screw retention version of the front pocket holster for the BG 2.0 I never altered the screw tension because it seemed perfect. Do you have a different holster?

No, same same. First screw-adjust Alabama, and it just wouldn't draw clearly. Really hope the one without adjuster is better.

In about 10 days, Tulster will release it's OWB holster for the BG 2.0. I pre-ordered one as all of mine are IWB. I have high hopes for this one, as Tulster makes a very good product.

I also have the Muddy River pocket holster and it's the first one I've ever purchased that I didn't have to alter for a better fit. It's superior quality and works very well.

Okay, the basic Alabama Kydex put in an appearance, maybe a month ago. Whatever the issue is with the adjustable one, it isn't present with this one. The gun draws cleanly, prints little, and keeps holster keeps the pistol in position.
BTW, my habit with past Alabama rigs was to give the holster a push with the backs of my fingers, while holding the gun in the v of my thumb and forefinger. This works well here too, and I never fumble my grasp. Once in a very great while, the holster comes out with the gun, and I shuck it off. But this is highly unusual.
BTW, my version curves around at the bottom, following the curve of my leg. The trigger is covered, the mag release is not. But I've never suffered a loose mag with an Alabama.

Halfmoon, does your latest Alabama have the thumb shelf for pushing the holster off the pistol? If so, how does that compare to your "back of fingers" method?

So between these 2, would you recommend either one? or something else? Both of these look like Kydex will they be comfortable to carry?

I tried the Galco Pocket Protector but it seems WAY too tight; currently using the DeSantis Nemesis (neither the Galco or DeSantis fully cover the mag release) which I like but looking for an alternative preferably covering the mag release, thanks!

I have not tried Muddy River... only Alabama. I get the impression they are very similar. I definitely want a kydex for pocket carry and the thumb shelf that helps with the initial draw is much nicer than the hook that catches on your pocket to pull the holster off. Both Muddy River and Alabama have the thumb shelf.

I had the Muddy River made without the thumb shelf. I found with previous pocket holsters it causes rubbing on my leg and makes the holster more likely to "print" by sticking out that extra quarter inch. Besides, they have a generous hook and it's never been a problem to pull it off while drawing. Another difference from the Alabama is the bigger gap between where the gun grip is and the hook are makes it easier to get your hand in there to draw.

I posted this in another thread, I highly recommend the PCS BLACKBIRD for a pocket holster. They don’t make a bg2 specific model but the model for the LCP max works perfectly. I carry nearly everyday in shorts and it works better than any other models Ive tried.
