Waay too cold. -15 F. Wind chill numbers in the -30s. Even birds are smart enough to fly south for the winter. Hope the e-lectricity stays on. Chnaces are my heat in the shop will run all day..burning $5/gallon oil.

I'm going to scout Willcox Az this year. They have a nice race track and no snow plows.

Years ago we had a cold snap where temps saw double digit negative numbers. I was standing in line at the local grocery store with a gallon of milk in my hand. The lady in front of me turned around and I clutched the gallon to my chest and said "I'm trying to warm up!" She burst out laughing and said "Good idea!"

I use to go to Sault St Marie Michigan for the I-500 snowmobile race every February. One year it was so cold cans of beer froze in my coat pockets while we were watching the race.
That is mighty cold!

Royal Oak(Michigan) cancelled their weekend Ice Festival because it was "too cold". What?! Bunch of sissys.

Went to the grocery store one day last week. Bought a 12 lb Rib roast. Made a loan at the bank first. put the roast and a gallon of milk in the bed of the truck. 14 miles later...the roast was seriously half frozen and the milk while not hard was slush. course it was -22 air temp. Have no idea of wind chill at 60 MPH driving home.. Had to thaw the roast in the fridge before I could cut some steaks off.

I have to add. We usually get a few days of real cold here. more this year than normal. So one morning it was 38 below. Got up to 20 below for the high. But then we had a few days of 108-110 last summer. I think I might prefer the cold! The hot IS dangerous but the cold...may be worse

Got up this morning to no hot water in one of our bathrooms. In the 22 years we've lived here we never had that happen. Got it thawed out and will leave the hot water trickling until tomorrow when it's supposed to be 40 degrees.

LOL thought it was a dry heat! We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground. Snow has been there for 2 months...It usually goes or blows away in a week or so...but no warm or sun this year to melt it. The only melted snow is coming off the roof. As far as dry...humidity here has been 30-40% most days. This last summer when it was 110 the avg humidity was 2 to 5%. The avg yearly rainfall where we live is almost 4 inches. About half that last few years. That includes the snow....and the snow just evaporates from the top...hmmm I guess that does make it a dry cold too

Yesterday it was -7, today it's supposed go up to 40, we have had crazy weather all winter.

22 degrees here in Central NJ right now (0625) but the wind is down.
Nothing new, the Winter of 1993-1994 was the coldest I remember as an adult, several 0 degree and colder days, plenty of snow and ice. In the Summer of 1993 I participated in the 130th Gettysburg, re-enactment, July 4, Pickett's Charge-99 degrees.

My freezer was warmer than my house this weekend as my boiler died just got the ol' Weil-McLean running at 4pm.
