Just wondering really... For those of you who regularly carry your EDC in an IWB holster, what position do you find most comfortable? I'm right handed. I do a lot of sitting, standing, driving, walking. I've found that 2:30 (ish) is the most comfortable position for me.

Separate question:
Do you carry spare mags? How? I'm still working out the most comfortable and realistic way to carry a spare. When I wear jeans, it goes in my watch pocket. But if I'm wearing shorts or slacks with no watch pocket...I'm still working on a solid solution for that. Plus the watch pocket isn't the best solution either since it's on my strong hand side and impossible to reach with my weak hand for a quick mag change.

for me 3:30 works best and is the most comfortable. im a plumber, so I really have to be careful of printing on the job.

Right behind my hip on the left side. It's pretty flat when you go sit or lean against something.

Since the late 80s IWB w/ a Milt Sparks Summer Special (or Executive Companion) at 3:30-4 o'clock... I carry a 3/4 inch Model 66 or a 3913/6906 auto. 90-95% of the time it's the 3913.

Extra ammo: For Revolvers a Safariland "Split 6" speedloader pouch(s)...... or a Bianchi 123 horizontal mag pouch(lays on top of your belt) for the autos

I carry my 640 Pro at 3:30 to 4:00 on my right side in a Remora IWB holster. Also at least one speed strip in my strong side pocket.

I have to pocket carry during the week. I have to tuck my shirt. I have tried to carry IWB with a tuck shirt and it does not work for me. On weekends I carry right on top of my right hip. I guess that's 3:30- 4:00.

Yeah, I find the little "bunch" of shirt around the IWB when tucked is more annoying than the firearm itself. I carry untucked since I'm not required to look too sharp most of the time.

This is how I have mine. I'm right handed & I carry my M&P Shield 40 in a Alien Gear Cloak tuck 2.0 holster above my right rear pocket. I'm 5'-11" & 165lbs & with jeans or even a pair of cargo shorts & a tee-shirt it is completely gone... The pistol lays flat against my body and does not hinder my everyday motions while walkijng/standing/sitting. I'm not a alien gear fan boy, but I will say for the money & their lifetime warranty it's worth checking out.

In reality, average joe & his/her EDC I see no need for carrying a extra magazine.

When I carry IWB I use an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2 at about 3:30 - 4:00. The only shirts that I've been able to "tuck" without looking funny are Columbia fishing shirts that fit sort of baggy. However, living a rather casual Florida lifestyle, I can wear button down shirts that are cut to be worn untucked most of the time and they cover my Lobo Gun Leather OWB pancake just fine and it is FAR more comfortable that carrying IWB. And most occasions where going with an untucked shirt would be inappropriate are the sorts that I can wear a sport coat and the Lobo stays on the belt.

To tell the truth, I seldom carry a spare mag. Most of the self defense scenarios I can envision don't include a running gunfight where I'm needing to reload.

Some are not going to like this, but I use a "Clip Draw" on my Shield, and a Raven Concealment "holster". The holster is kydex, and covers ONLY the trigger. I've carried this way for a couple of years and it's the most comfortable I've found FOR ME.
when I go 1911 I use a Galco kingtuk. Spare magazine is always weak side pocket.

Picture please?

I will post up pics later today / this evening. Basic concept is the Kydex trigger cover snaps on, and has a lanyard that you create a belt loop with. A crisp draw causes the cover to pop off. It took me a little practice to get used to it, but once I did it's very fast, and better, very thin.....

Being left handed, I carry either my PM9 or Shield 9 in an Alien Gear IWB holster at the 10 O'clock position. I carry two spare magazines in an open top leather magazine pouch in my weak side rear pocket.

I used a clip draw for years on my Kimber Compact and a full size 1911. Easiest system in the world. It all started, however, in TN back in the late 90s. At that time, they had a ridiculous rule on the books where you were not allowed to carry where alcohol was sold. Not just sold for consumption on the premises, but sold period. Therefor, you could not carry while paying for gas at the convenience store and so you were always having to take your gun off to walk in. That's where the clip-draw shines! Never got into mag holders and usually just slipped the extra mag in my pants pocket.

I've since gotten rid of all my 1911s (should I even admit to that?!) so I no longer use that system. The only carry auto I have now is a G19 and without any safety at all, I'm not so hot on using the same system with it.

This time of year I live in shorts and a T-shirt. My N82 Tactical keeps my 40c off my skin and my sweat off my gun. I like the single belt clip because it is easy to adjust the cant and position (usually 3:30 or 4:00) when I get in or out of a vehicle.

Model 64-3 4" at 3:30-4 o'clock on strong side hip in an unknown brand kydex IWB, along with a Airweight Bodyguard in right front pocket in a Mika. Reloads are 2 Speed Strips, 1 in watch pocket & the other in a belt pouch at about 1:30. Coming out of winter though I have been mostly carrying the 64-3 OWB in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake in the same position.
