In a recent email discussion with Red Nichols, about the various
names of Seventrees holsters, I learned from Red, that the word
IWB was invented by Paris Theodore aka Seventrees. So the
name of their inside waist band holsters was Seventrees IWBs.

Here are some of my IWBs Left to Right:

I was fortunate that Lou Alessi made me one of his Hard Shell
Talon IWBs before he passed away. Shown with my S&W 642-1.

2nd is Ken Null's Gibson Covert IWB with my Colt's Agent.

3rd is Mark Garrity's "inconspicuous" IWB with my S&W 642-1.

4th is a Delfatti shark trimmed IWB and shark belt by Crescent
with my S&W 642-1.

5th is Sparks VMII and Sparks gunbelt with my 1911 Colt's
Gold Cup.

I don't carry IWB very often any more, but when I do I have
plenty of choices.

What is your favorite IWB?

Favorite IWB carry holster

In 1974 I contacted the famous Andy Anderson in LA to see what he did about IWB holsters. Up to that time he hadn't done anything but he sent me two and told me to send the one I didn't like back with the $20 to cover the one I kept. I kept this one and still use it today. It is very thin leather, fairly soft and the belt loop both snaps and swivels to move with the wearer. The most comfortable IWB, I've ever used. For my Colt Defender I use a K L Null IWB similar to the one in the first picture of this thread. But my old commander still wears a full length grip safety and a standard spur hammer which I prefer and I have carried it since 1974 off and on.

I have fancier options but 99.9% of the time this is IWB. Joe

A great thread, Phil. I don't carry IWB but have added them to the collection over the years.
Here's Lawrence's IWB-leather covered spring clip and basic pouch.

The oldest one I have- rubberized canvas. LePage made the glue we used in elementary school, it came in a bottle with a pink rubber tip.

Three Myres IWB holsters. Carved IWB holsters are unusual for obvious reasons.

Regards,

Those Myres are very interesting John. Who would think of buying a
beautifully carved holster and then sticking it out of sight in their pants?

My only IWB currently is an older Original AKJ Concealco for my Ruger Speed Six; very comfortable and concealing.

The original maker had to stop due to arthritis ( as I recall). It appears someone else is making them but they are only contactable thru facebook it appears and I have no info about if they are still as good.

IWB is my preferred way of carry. Milt Sparks SS2 and PJ Kydex with Sig 365XL, SideGuard and 649
I find IWB for CC works the best for me. I also like appendix carry.
Quite a nice collection of holsters here.

sipowicz - Since you remind me I believe that my Delfatti, that I said
simply is a shark trimmed IWB, is actually an ISP-DD. Glad to know
the history.
