J frame appendix carry- holster help

With the weather getting warmer, I want to try AIWB carry with my 340PD because pocket carry with the J Frame doesn't work well for me. So far I have narrowed my holster search down to Kolberson's custom gun minimalist IWB (not sure about the cant and cut) or, the Garret Silent thunder.

What are you AIWB guys using? From trying different AIWB locations with an uncle mike's neoprene holster, I'm thinking I want a negative cant.

For a very long time I have used the Uncle Mikes open top IWB cordura-or what ever that heavy fabrick material is called. I am in Florida, so something that both breathes and can take what heat and humidity can dish out is essential. It is also light weight, and that's a definite plus. The open top eliminates the need for any kind of restraint on the holster, and it rides fairly deep, so I haven't had any issues with retention. The bottom portion of grip is all that can be touched, and it sits just above my 1 3/4 inch heavy belt. I have carried a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 or over 20 years, and i can quickly extract it by its finger groove rubber grip with my bottom two fingers for the first inch or so until the the rest of my hand naturally wraps around the rest of the gun. It works smooth for me, and is virtually undetectable. Flapjack.

Thanks for the input guys. I checked my pile o holsters and actually had an old Uncle Mikes IWB holster for the J Frame so I have been AIWB carrying with it. It works nicely but I think I'd prefer something with some cant and that is thinner without the clip at the widest part of the gun so I went ahead and ordered the Kolbeson AIWB set up.

I do have two Lobo Gunleather holsters and they are quite nice.

Are you sure you want cant with an appendix holster?

We have some great holster craftsmen that produce some fine products. My "summer" guns are a Model 60, 3913, or a Seecamp that I carry AIWB most of the time.

I switched to the Remora, as I can "tweak" it for that perfect carry position. Even without a belt, the holster stays where I want it even during rigorous physical movement.

I am very happy with my Bell Charter Oak, the Detective IWB, it is very comfortable and well made. Old Flatfoot is a very nice guy to deal with and makes great products.

I use a De Santis 'Tuck This' holster which works well in any position. It has an adjustable cant and seem to fit the bill nicely. I am a pretty big guy and this is as comfortable as any I have tried for a J frame. Price isn't bad either.

Clip Grip — DeSantis Holster
I carried with the Barami Hip grip for many years but the little plastic stocks were not fun to shoot with.
This new grip from Desantis would probably work well.
This inexpensive but well made Hume holster works well for me also AIWB.

This J Frame (bobbed 637) is set up exclusively for AIWB with the "universal" ClipDraw. Love it! BTW - I do not like the ClipDraw made specifically for the J Frame. That model allows the revo to shift for me.

Just about any straight drop IWB clip will work well for appendix carry.
