I'm looking for some non rubber grips for round butt J frames. Specifically looking for something shaped like Pachmayr Compacts, NO FINGER GROOVES but for the one at the bottom for the pinky.

Additionally, they MUST be compatible with HKS speedloaders. Not "compatable" like websites often claim, I mean really compatable. (Altamonts are not)

And lastly, no set of grips is worth more than a C note to me, they're tools, not trophies.

I know all that is a tall, maybe unfulfillable order; but I don't know what I don't know ;)

The only thing that comes to mind that is similar is Pachmayr Renegade wood laminate grips. I have no idea if they clear speed loaders, however.

Two questions for you please.

1) how old were you when your mom dropped you on your head?
(fine stocks are well worth the cost)

2) how handy are you?

I have a set of wood J frame RB stocks that might become exactly what you are searching for, providing you have the patience to rework them. A wood rasp will smooth out the middle, a spoon with self adhering sand papers of various grades will shape the upper portion of the left stock panel for proper clearance of a speed loader. Note the upper rear of the stocks received some carving. This needs smoothing.

The recently opened USPS plant in Palmetto, GA has been plagued with problems so I would prefer to mail these from NC, which I can do Thursday if you want them.

Just sneaked a peek at Amazon.
See Pachs, Altamonts and a couple of others that might be what you’re looking for.

Thank you for the offer Colby! My shooting buddy has taken a pair of my banana grips and is going to modify them for speed loaders. I'll post pics of the results ;)

If you change your mind and want these, let me know by noon Wednesday so I can remember to put them in the car.

I've got some of the Pachmayr Rosewood. Yes, I know they have fingergrooves, but they aren't very pronounced. And they will clear speed loaders.

The easiest thing to do is just check Amazon. Order what you like and return them for free if they don't fit your hand. I've done this a few times.

Try Amazon, they have tons. Not a lot of them with speedloader relief, but you may find one or two. GF just got a pair from Amazon yesterday, shaped exactly like the Compacs in your pic, but too big for speedloader. I could sand that part down and restain it, or I could use speed strips, or there are speedloaders, not HK, that work.

Nomadmax,

I started with J Frames 1.5 years ago and have gone through well over $1k in grips to find the right fit. I wear XL gloves so keep that in mind.
On K/L frame revolvers I like open-back grips. Boots ot Combats are good.
On J-frames I need a closed back, so it fills my hand more like my open back K and L frames.
Otherwise my lightweight J's snap back and hit my arthritic knuckle which hurts after only 5 shots. Sometimes bleeding.
Compared to firing 50 rounds through my m10 snub with no discomfort at all.
*my model 10 snub with boot grip carries just as well in my front pocket as any j frame, and is WAY more comfortable to shoot.

So, with all that said, my absolute favorite AFFORDABLE wooden pocket carry J-frame grip is the Altemont J Frame Bateleur grip. It is superb for carry, superb for fast purchase without all the grip-loosen-grip-loosen nonsense of pebbled rubber and nylon grips, and looks great.

**Personal Note - I absolutely can't stand rubber grips. They feel gross and are (in my edc opinion) dangerous to carry as they grab your clothing and take longer to get a good grip on. UMMV
