I would like to purchase a IWB holster for my Model 60 Pro (3in barrel). Problem is although there are several ranges in my area, the only IWB holsters I have found in a shop are all for auto pistol.

What do you guys use?

As for what I like in a holster:

*Has to be leather
*Greatly prefer leather belt loop or metal clips. I can see plastic J-Hooks breaking over time
*Prefer open muzzle
*Prefer Galco but open to other suggestions

I like the looks of the SC2 holster but $75 is an expensive item to buy on looks alone … anyone have one?

Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters

Just got an IWB from Ray at Lobo for my Detective Special and it is the best IWB I've ever worn. Wore a gun for a living for 33 years. Have a huge holster drawer of also rans.

I have several holsters for a 3" model 60 pro from Lobo Leather; they are well worth the cost. Turnaround time is very good.

I also have a Milt Sparks Summer Special which is very nice; but the turnaround time is much longer.

For a versatile holster with IWB option, the Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake with IWB belt loops is a good deal. It can be worn OWB, IWB, strongside or crossdraw.

My favorite IWB holster is the Wraith from Seth's Gun Leather. I have one for my 3" 65 (very comfortable for all-day wear) and as soon as finances allow I'll be getting one for my 642.

I've been carrying my 642 in a Sideguard Tuck Snap holster. It's a good holster, but I don't think it was the best choice for me. He has some other designs that might suit you. They're definitely high quality leather gear.

My first IWB holsters were non-tuckable, but after getting one that WAS tuckable I wouldn't be without that feature. I don't need it often, but when I do it's nice to have the choice to simply tuck a shirt over the holster and go.

The other thing - if you have ANY choice, pick a design that does NOT put the belt clip/strap/connector on top of the cylinder - that simply adds thickness to what is already the thickest part of the package. For my Glocks I use a CompTac MTAC, which has clips on either side of the gun. They don't make that style for a J frame but Crossbreed makes their Supertuck, which is equivalent (and equally recommended on the Glock boards.)

For my 442 I've ordered a SideGuard Tuck Clip, which has a single clip behind the cylinder. (Crossbreed has a similar single clip design - makes for a smaller package than the Supertuck.) I hope I like the design more than ContinentalOP did his.

Thanks for the replies, I have an email in to Lobo to get one in the works.

From looking at his options I would not want a hammer shield, that just looks like it would get in the way. What about a thumb break? I asked if it could be added, I like knowing there is a physical devise holding my pistol in the holder. Any reason against it?

Be sure to look at the Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 for the three-inch 60 Pro. Once you experience the Milt Sparks fit and see how well made their holsters are, it's hard to seriously consider any other brand.

The downside is that Milt Sparks only takes orders over the phone until their quota is filled. That manufacturing quota usually fills up after the first two or three business days of each month. The time lag between placing your order and receiving the holster is likely six months or more. It's well worth the wait.

Be careful re ordering from Ray at Lobo... he'll spoil you!

My recent purchase was a simple OWB leather holster for my 2 5/8" PC627 UDR, which it fits great. His delivery was faster than he promised - actually 1/6 - 1/3 of the time others promised - and his price was less than half what some quoted! Like I said, he'll spoil you.

BTW, Monday saw the arrival of my S&W Accessories thumb-break OWB holster for 3" J-frames - ~$75 delivered from S&W. Made for them by DeSantis, it has an S&W logo imprinted - and fits my 3" 63 and 3" 60 Pro perfectly. I have to use OWB... there is too much of me already 'IWB'!

a hammer shield or body shield or whatever you want to call it is a must for me to prevent any of the guns edges from digging into me when im moving around.....
